Magic City Happenings- Week of July 25th

This week looks to be another scorcher, but worry not because there are tons of things to do to keep your kids busy, without dying of heat exhaustion in the process.

Monday:

Monday Movie Matinee at North Shelby Library– Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. All Ages Welcome. No Registration Required. Snacks served.

Juggling show for the entire family at Vestavia Library. 6pm

Tuesday:

Teens and Tweens Tuesdays at Veterans Park in Alabaster- 6pm to 8pm

Storytime at Helena Library- Under the Sea -11:00 a.m.

Movie Matinee at Parnell Memorial Library-2pm- Toy Story

North Shelby Library -McWane Starlab Constellations at 10:30 and 11:30am– Crawl into an inflatable planetarium and learn about the solar system and constellations! Registration is required and begins on July 13th. Open to grades Kindergarten – 3rd.

Together Time at Emmet O’Neal Library-9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Action-packed storytime with Ms. Nene. All ages.

Wednesday:

Summer Story Time 10:15 AM at Albert L. Scott Library

Tunes & Tales with Mr. Mac 3:30 p.m. (all ages) at Albert L. Scott Library

Tot Spot at Chelsea Library- 10:30.  Reading program for 2′s, 3′s and 4′s.

Summer Movie at Helena Library- Finding Nemo -1:00 PM

Story Time with Mr. Mac-Parnell Memorial Library- 9:15am

Toddler Time at Vestavia Library-10:30am to 11:30am

Mother Goose at Emmet O’Neal Library- 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Lapsit storytime with Ms. Kat and MoMo. Ages 12-24 months and a caregiver. Registration required – call 879-0497 to register.

Thursday:

Calera Sprouts Activity Time-9am- ages 16 months to 2 years.

Calera Kids Story Time-10am- ages 3 and up.

Family Movie Time at Chelsea Library-10am. Astro Boy

Storytime at Helena Library- Under the Sea -11:00 a.m.

Craft at North Shelby Library: Hodgepodge - Drop in anytime between 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. All Ages Welcome. Registration Required. Registration begins 2 weeks prior to craft date. Call or visit the Children’s Department at 439-5504 to sign-up.

Summer Finale Party with Safari Greg at Vestavia Library. 6pm.

Mom & Me at Emmet O’Neal Library-10 a.m. to noon. Drop by with your child for a play session with great toys, puppets and costumes. Preschool children with a caregiver.

Friday:

Toddler Tales at Albert L. Scott Library- 10:30 am

Saturday:

1st Annual Teen Music Festival at Veteran’s Park in Alabaster- 1pm to 9pm- Come out and enjoy music, vendors, food, inflatables, and much much more.

Summer Reading End Party at North Shelby Library-6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.– Congratulations! After reading so many books, you deserve a party! Join us for delicious barbeque, hot dogs, fun games, grade level prizes, the grand prize drawing, and much more! All Ages are welcome.

Family Storytime at Emmet O’Neal Library. 10:30 a.m. Bring the entire family and join Mr. Mac for stories and music each Saturday morning.

First Financial Concert Series at Alabama Adventure. Boys Like Girls at 8pm.
