Dynamic Cross Give-a-way from J. Allen’s Gifts and More

As his hands reached out on that cross, his side pierced and the pain of his death fully experienced, you were with him.  You were in his heart. From the moment he arrived in a very humble way, in a stable, over 2000 year ago, you were with him.

This give-a-way has a special meaning. It begins like this…

I was visiting Judy at J. Allen’s Gifts in Maylene, in the Alabaster area,  a couple of weeks ago for her Spring Open House. As I was leaving, these beautiful, yet simple crosses caught my eye.   The image of those simple crosses would not leave my thoughts.  There was something so significant about them that really tugged at my heart.

I wrote Judy to ask about them and realized then why there was such a powerful statement radiating beyond them into my heart.

Judy’s husband makes these crosses for a very special reason. Each year, he and Judy go to Brazil through the ministries of Westwood Baptist Church.

It is through the proceeds of the purchases of these crosses that the gospel of Jesus and the compassion of his love for us that they are able to give the gift of medical services to a very under-priviledged group of individuals. The crosses come in three sizes and are priced at $14, $7, and $5 a piece.  They can be purchased through J. Allen’s Gifts in Maylene or through Judy Allen directly at jallensgifts@yahoo.com.

Much like the hands that freely accepted the nails for us, we too can freely accept to love each other and share of ourselves each day. Some of us chose to work with awesome organization like Hands On Birmingham, some chose to offer meals through organizations like Meals on Wheels, and some chose to go beyond our borders into a world of strife, filled with terrible abuse, human traffiking, drug cartels, and other horrific acts.

Another way you can give to others is very simple, PRAYER!

A brief moment, a simple thought, a kind word, or a deep breath, offered up to your fellow man, woman or child. It is simple but I truly believe in my heart, that regardless of your religion, philosophical thought, or belief, I know as humans, we all share a love for our children and each other.

Judy Allen knows this too. Her crosses, although very inexpensive, symbolize such a powerful message to Christians, that their value goes beyond the wall you may display it on, it goes into the hearts of the poor of Brazil.

This give-a-way offers you a chance to win the largest of these crosses, valued at $14.  All you have to do is offer up a simple thought or prayer in honor of missionaries around the world who go out and seek to share the compassion of God. You may enter this give-a-way daily.

Simply make a comment in the form below with your name and make sure we have your email address (it is never published) so we can contact you after the give-a-way ends and get your cross to you. We welcome you to offer a prayer or statement of encouragement to Judy and the team at Westwood Baptist or any missionary-domestic or international.

This give-a-way is about commUNITY!  It is about love.

Thank you so much to Judy and all those who go beyond your front doors to share the love of our Creator.

It is no coincidence that this give-a-way was posted in the 3:00 hour of Good Friday. Nor is it a coincidence that we will keep this give-a-way up for 7 days.

Westwood Baptist of Alabaster is the proud sponsor of this mission to Brazil. If you would like to attend a church service on Easter, click here for more information.

Very compelling statement about helping others both overseas and in the states who are less fortunate to see God’s love and grace! Keep on inspiring those of us who walk in the light of Christ.

His death was not a glamorous scene and to glamorized it would deny it it’s due. There is a powerful message in this simple and perfect design. Thank you for a solemn yet beautiful reminder of what He chose for us. Thank you for the willingness you show to bring His love to His children in a place most people would avoid. Father we ask you to pour out your blessings on this couple and provide abundant resource and provision to your cause. In His name. Amen.

It is truly awesome to see people who are reaching outside their “comfort zone” to help others who are less fortunate than we are. I am adding this wonderful ministry to my prayer list. These crosses are beautiful with such a wonderful and powerful message behind them!
