I knew this was going to be such a fun weekend, I decided to start it a day early.
On Thursday night, I joined a group of wonderful ladies to have some Coffee and Canvas time at Cherubs Clubhouse. We painted a cross, perfectly theme for this time of the year, then splattered it for effect. At the same time we were sipping flavored coffee and painting, our children were having their own special time. This special is now a monthly event.
You too, can join us next month on April 8th. Bring the kids, bring your favorite beverage or enjoy the coffee there, and relax and enjoy the fun times with other moms. Don’t stress over leaving the kids at home with Dad. Don’t stress over keeping them up late either. For $35, you have a great evening out and that includes all supplies and babysitting and you can expect to get out before 9pm.
On Friday, we did a little bustling around getting ready for a family wedding. Word to the wise, if you have a son getting ready for the prom, GO GET YOUR TUX RESERVED NOW! It was packed at Mr.Burch’s Formal Wear. Go ahead and make plans for your teen’s night out at The Melting Pot. It is a wonderful place to take a prom date.
Saturday was a special day for us. My husband surprised me with a belated birthday gift: A Night at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort and Spa.
It was truly a surprise and when we arrived, after a busy day at a family event, I was greeted with a man playing the bagpipes in the courtyard. As the sun sets daily, this nightly event can be enjoyed by all guests staying at Renaissance Ross Bridge. Through the courtyard is the beautiful waterfall gently flowing into the outside pool, complete with slide. And while it may be too cold to enjoy it now, it was not too cold to enjoy the hot tub located just below the waterfall. There is also a nice warm indoor pool for all guests staying there.
For dinner, we enjoyed a nice dinner at Brock’s at Renaissance Ross Bridge. Brock’s menu includes a Mediterranean selection of appetizers, fresh steaks, fish selections and pasta. We tried the Anti-Pasta sampler and some crunchy flat bread selections with cheeses, shrimp, and roasted red peppers. Imagine my surprise when our Anti-Pasta sampler was served on the beautiful clay designs of Earthborn Pottery. These gorgeous creations can be created by YOU with a simple visit to Cahaba Clayworks, located in Leeds.
A few weeks ago, I, along with several other bloggers, had the pleasure of meeting Tena and Larry, owners of Cahaba Clayworks and designers of Earthborn Pottery. Check them out and grab a few friends too, they offer pottery parties as well as pottery classes and open sessions.
If you have never stayed or visited Renaissance Ross Bridge, it is a fabulous staycation and couples get-a-way. With Mother’s Day and wedding anniversaries coming up, go ahead…treat yourself and your spouse.
You are worth it!
So this is my weekend round up. Next week, weather permitting, we are hitting the great outdoors for some local attractions.
Have a great week!

Wow – what a weekend!! It sounds awesome!
