Did you have a great weekend? I officially have SPRING FEVER! Give me one day of sunshine and I am ready to box up the sweaters and gloves.
Chilly Friday nights are a perfect excuse to pack a few goodies (chocolate, of course) and head to a cozy, fun Ladies Night Out at Ladybug Lane. Once a month, Nita with Nita’s Niche organizes this night of food, fun, and scrapbooking, but the scrapbooking is optional. I took my crochet needle and current project aka scarf, turned shawl, turning blanket thingie and enjoyed just chatting with friends. If you ever want to learn to scrapbook, come join us. Bring your own items or let Nita get you started. Oh, and there is a HUGE FREEBIE basket for everyone to pick and poke through. This is definately a night of just girl fun with absolutely NO sales pitch. If you need something, it is available but we all share our goodies, scrappins’, tools, and great funny discussion. Check back for next month’s time and dates and come join us.
While I was there, the sweet Stacey Spence with Mary Kay joined us to give
me a facial and makeover. It was really nice to just have an hour of being spoiled with some great products that I have not tried in years. Did you know that the 3 step process that I used years go from Mary Kay is now a one step process? After a good cleansing of skin and removing some seriously dead cells, I tried on a new powder based foundation that was light and perfect for me, someone who really does not like to wear a lot of foundation makeup. I even left with Satin Lips and Satin Hands treatments. If you have not checked out the latest in Mary Kay cosmetics, check them out. To schedule your own free facial and makeover, contact her at 205-613-5704.
Before and After pictures. Notice the dark, dark circles under the eyes. Mary Kay has a great concealer for that.
On Saturday, I had an opportunity to take pottery classes with an awesome group of fellow bloggers. Thanks to the incredible Rachel with Alabama Bloggers, we had a fantastic day.
First, let me say this…did you know that right here in Birmingham (Leeds to be exact) is a pottery studio that is featured all around America? Did you know that literally, in our own community, we have such talent and artistry that is displayed in the finest of culinary establishments?
Earthware Pottery is a hidden jewel in Leeds. It is produced in the Cahaba Clayworks Factory. It features the most beautiful pottery items including dishware, art, and anything you can imagine! And the best part of Cahaba Clayworks, you can now take classes from them. If you have never experienced the thrill of forming your own bowl on a wheel, this is the place to try it. Tena and Larry are incredible teachers and truly gifted artists. It is a great place for friends to gather and perfect for homeschoolers to learn the art of pottery. In fact, you can learn to make
this…
Once you create your masterpiece, they will fire and glaze it to perfection. This was my first time to visit but will not be my last. Check back soon for upcoming give-a-ways.
So this weekend was full of fun times and new experiences. Next weekend, we review a candy facility, take a Walk with Easter Seals, and dance.
Have a great week.
