We came up with an agreement; as long as her handwriting was neat, clean, and readable then she did not have to do handwriting lessons. Her handwriting was BEAUTIFUL from that moment on. Every once in a while she would slack, and I would have to remind her that we would have to start "doing lessons", and she would straighten right up. Anything but lessons! Her manuscript and cursive writing are both MUCH better than mine. My daughter, Dae, had the same feelings towards handwriting.
